How a cleanup works
We work backwards through your accounts and reconcile them to your actual bank and credit card statements. Miscategorised transactions get corrected. Duplicates get removed. Missing items get identified and recorded. Where something can’t be resolved from the records alone, we come back to you with a specific question rather than a guess.
When it’s finished you get books that are current, a chart of accounts that makes sense, and a written summary of what changed.
What happens next
Most cleanup clients move onto monthly bookkeeping afterwards, because the reason the books fell behind rarely fixes itself. That isn’t a requirement — a cleanup can be a one-time engagement if that’s what you need.
